Kap Høegh

THE CONSEQUENCES OF CLIMATE CHANGE TO TRAVEL TO KAP HØEGH 

This beautiful place with high mountains is placed around 40 km north from Ittoqqortoormiit. It is a home for lots of Little Auks during spring/summer. 

You can visit Kap Høegh by booking 4 or 6 days dogsled trip around Liverpool Land, or by snowmobile during winter. Otherwise the last 2 years have been impossible to visit Kap Høegh due to lesser snow, and a bad seaice in Liverpool Land, then a bunch of ice pieces on the sea during summer made it almost impossible to visit, but luckily 3 boats got lucky for only 1 day to transfer some boxes on summer 2020. 

Winter 2020/2021 was a good winter, without the wind or wavy sea pulling the seaice away, which made transportation and hunting way better. 

There wasn't that much snow untill we had heavy snow days in mid April, and the days with snowmobiling and dog sledding got longer and the route to Kap Høegh got possible.
