Upper Layer:
Long sleeved quick dry shirt (ideally light weight and synthetic fiber)
Synthetic or wool light weight t-shirt
Synthetic jacket, should be easily packable
Long underwear, midweight, 2 sets
Fleece sweater
Neoprene wet suit (the farmer john style is the most comfortable)
Lower Layer:
Quick dry loose fitting pants
Quick dry shorts
Long underwear, midweight, 2 sets
Synthetic or wool underwear (cotton is pretty uncomfortable to paddle in)
Socks:
Wool or synthetic socks (bring a warm thick pair for chilly mornings and lighter pair for hiking in)
Gloves:
Warm fleece or wool mittens/ gloves
Neoprene gloves or “pogies”
Headwear:
Brimmed hat for sun protection
Warm fleece or wool stocking hat

Waterproof breathable jacket

Paddling Jacket
Quality rain gear is essential for happiness in Greenland. Ideally a Goretex fabric is best suited for paddle tours. If your paddling jacket has a hood on it, you can leave the rain jacket at home.
Footwear:
Paddling shoes or neoprene booties w/ sandels (check out the Chota Quicklace Mukluk)
Hiking shoes (a cross trainer tennis shoe works great, or a low cut hiking shoe. There’s no need to bring big heavy duty hiking boots
